The Internetting Women Project - a project devoted to improving the quality of science education for girls through Internet technology.

Shad Valley is an exciting summer program designed especially for top students in grades 11 and 12 (secondary 5 and CEGEP I in Quebec). The award- winning program is offered at eight Canadian universities during the month of July. Most students then have paid work terms with sponsoring organizations for the rest of the summer

Unmixed Messages Though their primary focus is science, these activities lead into and out of other subjects, such as history, music, art and language arts. The first activities set explores the science of chemistry through the context of everyday materials such as toothpaste, ice cream and paper. The second set examines music from a scientific perspective. The third activities set is designed to foster specific science skills such as deductive reasoning and invention through topics geared toward elementary students' interests. In addition, each of the activities concludes with "Interconnections," suggestions for ways in which teachers can extend the activities into other disciplines.
